the set of seven engravings, lacking the title, 1539, on laid paper, without watermarks, P. 116, 118-119, 122 the fourth state (of five, four and five respectively), P. 117 first state (of four), P. 120 third state (of four) and P. 121 second state (of three), very good to fine impressions, with thread margins or trimmed on the platemark, a few with tiny nicks and other very minor defects, generally in good condition

In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work The seven Planets with the Zodiacs (Bartsch 114-120; Pauli 116-122) by Hans Sebald Beham. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,946.17), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Sebald Beham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recto: A Putto Standing Beside A Flaming Urn Verso: Four Studies Of Men'S Heads in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 71,291.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit The seven Planets with the Zodiacs (Bartsch 114-120; Pauli 116-122) von Hans Sebald Beham zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.946,17) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Sebald Beham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Recto: A Putto Standing Beside A Flaming Urn Verso: Four Studies Of Men'S Heads im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.000,00 (€ 71.291,08).
