Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme assise, bras croisés by Henri Matisse was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 113,400.00 (€ 129,014.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).

Die Arbeit Femme assise, bras croisés von Henri Matisse kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 113.400,00 (€ 129.014,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Matisse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Odalisque couchée aux magnolias im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.750.000,00 (€ 69.194.515,85).
