Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale Including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso, which included the work Le banc des avocats by Honoré Daumier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000 - 180,000, the actual price achieved of GBP 126,000 (€ 148,018) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Honoré Daumier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000 (€ 2,024,176).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale Including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le banc des avocats von Honoré Daumier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 120.000 – 180.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 126.000 (€ 148.018) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Honoré Daumier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000 (€ 2.024.176).
