The work Messerschnitte (I) & (II) by Imi Knoebel was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,655.00 (€ 33,466.30), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Imi Knoebel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Revolver I in April 2017 with an auction result of EUR 434,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Messerschnitte (I) & (II) von Imi Knoebel wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.655,00 (€ 33.466,30) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Imi Knoebel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Revolver I im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 434.500,00.
