Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Edward Weston and Margrethe Mather, 1923 by Imogen Cunningham for USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,671.96). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Imogen Cunningham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calla in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 312,472.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Edward Weston and Margrethe Mather, 1923 von Imogen Cunningham für USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.671,96) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Imogen Cunningham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calla im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 312.472,10).
