The work F-111 by James Rosenquist was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It achieved a price of USD 42,840.00 (€ 38,804.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Rosenquist achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Director in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,135,000.00 (€ 2,811,911.38).

Die Arbeit F-111 von James Rosenquist wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 42.840,00 (€ 38.804,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Rosenquist erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Director im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.135.000,00 (€ 2.811.911,38).
