Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Homme À Rachi 1 by Georges Jeanclos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 10,625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Jeanclos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La toupie, which sold at auction in October 2021 for EUR 30,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Homme À Rachi 1 von Georges Jeanclos zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 10.625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Jeanclos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La toupie beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für EUR 30.000,00 versteigert wurde.
