Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Air-Step (Blue) by Jeff Elrod was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 37,800.00 (€ 31,904.12). Admittedly, works by Jeff Elrod have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Echo Painting (B/W) in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 218,500.00 (€ 308,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Air-Step (Blue) von Jeff Elrod im Juni 2021 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 37.800,00 (€ 31.904,12) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jeff Elrod auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Echo Painting (B/W) im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 218.500,00 (€ 308.082,26).
