JOAN MIRO (1893-1983) La cascade aux oiseaux lithograph in colours, 1971, on Arches wove paper, signed in pencil, numbered 35/50, published by Maeght, Paris, authenticated by Rosa Maria Malet, Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona, dated ( 22/X/2020 ) in pencil on the reverse Image 745 x 585 mm. Sheet 1044 x 718 mm.

In March this year Christies in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work La cascade aux oiseaux by Joan Miró. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,600.96), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Miró achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture (Étoile Bleue) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,561,250.00 (€ 29,174,436.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit La cascade aux oiseaux von Joan Miró zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.600,96) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Miró erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peinture (Étoile Bleue) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.561.250,00 (€ 29.174.436,97).
