Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joan Mitchell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Trees V-A sold for USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November this year with an auction result of USD 29,160,000.00 (€ 26,732,673.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Mitchell erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Trees V-A für USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.160.000,00 (€ 26.732.673,27).
