Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples, which included the work Multiplex D by Josef Albers. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,847.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).
