Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Suzanne Valtat au renard by Louis Valtat for USD 119,700 (€ 111,546). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 120,000 – 180,000 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Louis Valtat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madame Valtat et son fils in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 726,650.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Suzanne Valtat au renard von Louis Valtat für USD 119.700 (€ 111.546) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000 – 180.000. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Valtat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madame Valtat et son fils im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 726.650.
