The work Kirche von Treptow an der Rega I by Lyonel Feininger was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,760.00 (€ 37,270.83), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lyonel Feininger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jesuiten Iii (Jesuits Iii) in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 23,280,000.00 (€ 17,304,690.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Kirche von Treptow an der Rega I von Lyonel Feininger wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 37.270,83) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lyonel Feininger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jesuiten Iii (Jesuits Iii) im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.280.000,00 (€ 17.304.690,40).
