Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le cheval à l'ombrelle et les amoureux sur le toit by Marc Chagall was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in June 2004. It changed hands for a price of GBP 296,450.00 (€ 441,206.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Die Arbeit Le cheval à l'ombrelle et les amoureux sur le toit von Marc Chagall wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 296.450,00 (€ 441.206,40) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen.
