Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rue René Magritte Straat by Marcel Broodthaers was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2020. The price achieved of EUR 50,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Broodthaers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 536,466.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rue René Magritte Straat von Marcel Broodthaers kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 50.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Broodthaers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 536.466,65).
