Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Adam und Eva by Max Beckmann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 186,354.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Beckmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hölle der Vögel in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 36,005,000.00 (€ 41,002,977.39).
