Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hertha by Otto Dix was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,502.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto Dix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sitzender Akt Mit Blondem Haar (Seated Nude With Blond Hair) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,513,250.00 (€ 4,350,239.94).
