Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
The work Médaillon Ovale (Oval Medallion) by Pablo Picasso was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in January 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 19,262.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).
