Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Paul Cézanne could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century Evening Sale auction, the work Nature morte avec pot au lait, melon et sucrier changed hands for USD 28,650,000.00 (€ 24,598,609.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Cézanne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Montagne Sainte-Victoire in November last year with an auction result of USD 137,790,000.00 (€ 133,478,639.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Cézanne konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Nature morte avec pot au lait, melon et sucrier für USD 28.650.000,00 (€ 24.598.609,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Cézanne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Montagne Sainte-Victoire im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.790.000,00 (€ 133.478.639,93).
