This artwork by Richard Serra achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Carnegie sold for USD 21,420.00 (€ 19,402.17) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Serra achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L.A. Cone in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 4,267,750.00 (€ 3,285,917.77).
