Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life with Palette by Roy Lichtenstein was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2010. The price achieved of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 5,218,241.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,500,000.00 – 7,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).

Die Arbeit Still Life with Palette von Roy Lichtenstein wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.802.500,00 (€ 5.218.241,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.500.000,00 – 7.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
