Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Incomplete open cube drawing - Ten & Eleven part variations by Sol LeWitt was sold in the TwentiethCentury Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2008. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 13,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Incomplete open cube drawing - Ten & Eleven part variations von Sol LeWitt wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion TwentiethCentury Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 13.750,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
