Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2021 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Spencer Sweeney for USD 9,450.00 (€ 7,976.03). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Spencer Sweeney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Tropez Gigolo in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2021 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Spencer Sweeney für USD 9.450,00 (€ 7.976,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Spencer Sweeney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Tropez Gigolo im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.466,45).
