Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2020 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Warhol Flowers by Elaine Sturtevant. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 217,312.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elaine Sturtevant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warhol Diptych in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,093,000.00 (€ 4,632,526.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Warhol Flowers von Elaine Sturtevant zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 187.500,00 (€ 217.312,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elaine Sturtevant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warhol Diptych im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.093.000,00 (€ 4.632.526,83).
