Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Struth could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part II auction, the work Stellarator Wendelstein 7-X Detail, Max Planck IPP, Greifswald, Germany, 2009 changed hands for USD 50,400.00 (€ 48,823.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Struth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pantheon, Rome in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,810,000.00 (€ 1,646,352.56).
