Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Atlas, after Giovanni Francesco Barbieri (Il Guercino) by Vik Muniz. The price achieved of GBP 12,700.00 (€ 14,629.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vik Muniz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Children: Valentina, The Fastest; Jacynthe Loves Orange Juice; Big James Sweats Buckets; Lil' Calist Can'T Swim; Valicia Bathes In Sunday Clothes; Ten Ten'S Weed Necklace in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).
