Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tracks by W. Eugene Smith was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 8,190.00 (€ 8,244.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by W. Eugene Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Walk to Paradise Garden, 1946 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,892.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tracks von W. Eugene Smith wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 8.244,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von W. Eugene Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Walk to Paradise Garden, 1946 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.892,72).
