Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Willem de Kooning for USD 5,313,500.00 (€ 4,987,328.70). This price was achieved in the auction A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Kooning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled XXV in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 66,327,500.00 (€ 62,703,252.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Willem de Kooning für USD 5.313.500,00 (€ 4.987.328,70) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Kooning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled XXV im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.327.500,00 (€ 62.703.252,03).
