The »bidding war« ended at GBP 48,180.00 (€ 55,971.45), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Nets) in May last year with an auction result of USD 10,496,000.00 (€ 9,781,008.29).

Die Arbeit Pumpkin 2000 (Yellow) (Kusama 298) von Yayoi Kusama wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 48.180,00 (€ 55.971,45) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Nets) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.496.000,00 (€ 9.781.008,29).
