Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work MAO by Zeng Fanzhi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 73,394.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zeng Fanzhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Supper in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 180,440,000.00 (€ 17,122,818.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit MAO von Zeng Fanzhi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 73.394,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zeng Fanzhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Last Supper im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 180.440.000,00 (€ 17.122.818,89).
