Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Zhan Wang could be acquired at Phillips in New York in November 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Artificial Rock No. 40 changed hands for USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhan Wang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Artificial Rock No. 131 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 6,380,000.00 (€ 630,365.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhan Wang konnte im November 2017 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session wechselte die Arbeit Artificial Rock No. 40 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhan Wang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Artificial Rock No. 131 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.380.000,00 (€ 630.365,14).
