Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled #7 by Agnes Martin was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,712,500.00 (€ 4,895,029.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Agnes Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled #44, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 17,728,800.00 (€ 15,707,273.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled #7 von Agnes Martin kam im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.712.500,00 (€ 4.895.029,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Agnes Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled #44 beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 17.728.800,00 (€ 15.707.273,85) versteigert wurde.
