Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Flying Colors by Alexander Calder. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,653.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Calder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poisson volant (Flying Fish) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 25,925,000.00 (€ 19,006,598.24).
