Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Heilandsgesicht: Märtyrer by Alexej von Jawlensky was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 403,200.00 (€ 458,717.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexej von Jawlensky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Schokko (Schokko Mit Tellerhut) Schokko (Schokko With Wide-Brimmed Hat) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 9,428,500.00 (€ 12,332,107.99).
