Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work On the alert by Alfred Duke. The price achieved of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,377.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Duke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An English setter and a pointer, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,493.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the alert von Alfred Duke zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.377,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Duke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An English setter and a pointer beobachtet, die im November 2003 für GBP 9.400,00 (€ 13.493,84) versteigert wurde.
