Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Jackie Curtis as a Boy by Alice Neel. It changed hands for a price of USD 338,500.00 (€ 266,661.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alice Neel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,030,000.00 (€ 2,484,828.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jackie Curtis as a Boy von Alice Neel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 338.500,00 (€ 266.661,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alice Neel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.030.000,00 (€ 2.484.828,60).
