Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples, which included the work Campbell's Soup I by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 913,043.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
