Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (We Won't Be Our Own Best Enemy) by Barbara Kruger. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 327,600.00 (€ 381,270.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barbara Kruger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Your Manias Become Science), which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 1,170,000.00 (€ 1,036,590.77).
