Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fünf Miniaturen by Blinky Palermo was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,423.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blinky Palermo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ohne Titel in May last year with an auction result of USD 5,640,000.00 (€ 5,255,800.95).
