Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Five prints by the artist by Claes Oldenburg was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,793.48) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,900.00 – 5,700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claes Oldenburg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clothespin Ten Foot in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 3,637,000.00 (€ 3,443,476.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Five prints by the artist von Claes Oldenburg wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.793,48) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.900,00 – 5.700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claes Oldenburg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Clothespin Ten Foot im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.637.000,00 (€ 3.443.476,61).
