This artwork by Clarence H. White achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October last year. In the Photographs auction, the work Selected Images sold for USD 12,600.00 (€ 12,683.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Clarence H. White have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Telegraph Poles in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Clarence H. White erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Selected Images für USD 12.600,00 (€ 12.683,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarence H. White auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Telegraph Poles im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
