This artwork by Cy Twombly achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Six Latin Writers and Poets sold for USD 47,880.00 (€ 43,369.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cy Twombly achieve.
