Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Market Place by David Macbeth Sutherland was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Christies in London in March 2005. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,048.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by David Macbeth Sutherland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Concarneau in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,722.85).
