It achieved a price of GBP 130,810.00 (€ 150,688.11), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emma Webster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Glen, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 378,000.00 (€ 354,796.32).

Die Arbeit Background’s Backdrop von Emma Webster kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 130.810,00 (€ 150.688,11) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Für andere Arbeiten von Emma Webster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Glen beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 378.000,00 (€ 354.796,32) versteigert wurde.
