In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples, which included the work Star of Persia I, from Star of Persia Series by Frank Stella. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,420.00 (€ 19,402.17), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Star of Persia I, from Star of Persia Series von Frank Stella zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 19.402,17) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Point Of Pines im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.082.500,00 (€ 25.188.357,70).
