Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Guildenstern by Gerhard Richter for USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,264.19). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerhard Richter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstraktes Bild in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 30,389,000.00 (€ 41,901,917.57).
