Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacques Villon could be acquired at Christies in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction, the work Two prints by the artist changed hands for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,826.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Acrobate in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 920,520.88).
In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online wechselte die Arbeit Two prints by the artist für USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.826,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00.
