JEAN (HANS) ARP (1886-1966) Le Soleil Recerclé the complete artist's book comprising twenty woodcuts in colors, on various papers, 1966, signed in pencil on the justification page, signed and numbered 93/150 in pencil on Arntz 252, number 93 of 150 (the total edition was 185), published by Louis Broder, Paris, loose (as issued), in- and hors-texte, with title, text by the artist, table of contents and justification pages, with full margins, in generally very good condition, together with the original paper cover and slipcase Overall: 20 x 15 7 ⁄ 8 x 2 3 ⁄ 8 in. (508 x 403 x 60 mm.)

In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction, the work Le Soleil Recerclé sold for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,847.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean (Hans) Arp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Déméter in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,825,000.00 (€ 5,144,396.36).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean (Hans) Arp erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online wurde die Arbeit Le Soleil Recerclé für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.847,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean (Hans) Arp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Déméter im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.825.000,00 (€ 5.144.396,36).
