JEAN (HANS) ARP (1886-1966) Le voilier dans la forêt , Louis Broder, Paris, 1957 the complete set of six woodcuts in colors, on Rives BFK paper, signed by the artist in pencil on the justification page, from the edition of 115 (there were also fifteen examples in Roman numerals), each with full margins, in very good condition, loose (as issued), with title page, text in French, table of contents and justification pages, in very good condition, together with original Japon paper folder with woodcut on the cover, paper boards with letter press title and slipcase Overall: 6 3 ⁄ 4 x 7 3 ⁄ 4 x 1 in. Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Le voilier dans la forêt, Louis Broder, Paris, 1957 by Jean (Hans) Arp for USD 882.00 (€ 798.91). This price was achieved in the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean (Hans) Arp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Déméter in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,825,000.00 (€ 5,144,396.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Le voilier dans la forêt, Louis Broder, Paris, 1957 von Jean (Hans) Arp für USD 882,00 (€ 798,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean (Hans) Arp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Déméter im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.825.000,00 (€ 5.144.396,36).
