Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Serpents by Jeff Koons was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 711,000.00 (€ 637,725.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeff Koons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rabbit in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 91,075,000.00 (€ 81,688,940.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Serpents von Jeff Koons im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 711.000,00 (€ 637.725,36) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeff Koons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rabbit im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.075.000,00 (€ 81.688.940,71).
